Implementation notes for file formats in Office 2007 published

17 December 2008

Microsoft has released detailed notes for its implementation of Open Document Format (ODF) 1.1 in Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 2.

The ODF and soon-to-be-released Open XML notes give developers insights into how Microsoft is implementing file formats in its office suite, and will help serve as a reference point for developers' own applications.

Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 2, Microsoft will support a wide range of file formats, including ODF, XPS and PDF/A.

The notes are available free of charge on the Document Interoperability Initiative (DII) Web site at http://documentinteropinitiative.org .
