Home > Industry information > News Sony begins shift away from Memory Stick-only support29 January 2010 Sony has announced that it will add support for SD and microSD memory cards in some of its electronic devices. The introduction means a move away from the company's previous decision to only support its Memory Stick format. Sony will introduce its own brand of SD and microSD memory cards in sizes ranging from 2 to 32GB but has promised to still continue to advance the Memory Stick format. Sony launched and added support for the Memory Stick format into its devices in 1998. However, other flash storage formats have come to dominate the market.
